ACCIDENTS HAPPEN !!
Often when it comes to claims, which is the main reason which we buy car insurance for, many people do not know what to do. We will take a simple example on the accident claim. What should we do when we meet with an accident? The following only applies to Comprehensive Cover. First of all, don’t get panic!
1) We are not the expert in road traffic act and therefore we should not judge whose fault it is, lodge a police report within 24 hours of accident occurrence as required by law.
2) Notify the insurer either in form of writing or phone on the particulars of the vehicles involved, date of accident, and brief description of the circumstances within 7 days if you were not disabled or hospitalized due to the accident, within 30 days if you were.
3) Get your car towed or drive it to panel workshop if it is still in driving condition for repair purpose.
4) The panel workshop will advise necessary document required from your end and they will be able to take it from there.
